7,5 hours of fighting with the chassis

•2009/08/06 • Leave a Comment

yesterday got everything to start….new chassis,mootherboard,cpu,cpu-coolers,memory,hdds,tuners

never thinked it will be more than 7 hours to build that machine

1., the original pack

836tqr800b_orig nice new stuff with airshroud

airshroud – you cant use it, because of the CPU coolers

.

.

.

2., cabling…

836tqr800b_fans you must be remove all of the fans, and fans-holders for cabling

.

.

.

.

.

836tqr800b_cabling Look! you’ve got enough space :)

click on the pic to zoom!

.

.

.

.

3., mb in now

836tqr800b_mb_in and now after removed all fan-holders too (left on the pic),

and then fixed the screws for the mb,

and then made the total cable system,

and then pulledback and fixed with tape all of the cables,

i can drop the mb to chassis

.

4., headache starting….

836tqr800b_front i installed the HDDs,

all cables fixed and inserted

powercords plugged in to the 2 PSU

and when i plugged in the 230V cables the PSUz started (ie.: PSU fans are spinning)

after 1 minute on the MB the BMC led start to blinking, this is ok

but no LED working on the front panel – power on or power failure on something else, nothing

and the power button is not working……

5., troubleshooting…..

many years of IT supporting behind my back

so, we tried to fix this issue

- checked all cabels, all connections, the CPUz, the memory modules, checked and tried everything…

- no luck

- ok, disassembling the MB, and then try with another simple PSU

- and it’s working! – simple connected to a chieftec 450w PC PSU, closed the power pins on the board and it’s powered up and running

- then i investigated those 2 redundant 800w psu in the chassis

- and the resolve: one of them isn’t working, i don’t know anything whats the problem with it, but it isnt working

- when im plugged in only the good psu, connected the electric power and then it is working good

- ok MB re-assembling to the chassis, re-cableing, re-connecting everything836tqr800b_rear

- and VOILA! power leds are working on the front panel, buttons are working, MB can be powered on

- one thing only, the chassis and its psu controller beeping about the missing psu

- then i found the buzzer reset

buzzerreset at the top-right side of HDD backpanel

you need a screwdriver or something else for reseting

i simply disassembled the intrusion detection switch and temporarily plugged in, funny but it is working :)

i sentback the bad psu, and drop a question to the seller, how can be redundant this chassis if one the psu dead and then the MB isn’t starting?

so, that’s all…

now i’m installing the beyondtv, and testing

Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-2200

got 4 tuner cards now

these are the Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-2200, EU versions of hauppauge cards

  • Two TV tuners on board each able to tune to PAL/SECAM for analogue TV and DVB-T for TV
  • Built-in two hardware MPEG-2 encoders
  • Includes FM radio receiver

the package:

hvr2200pack

interest, because all of paper docs are in German language

interest, because default bracket is the low-profile

interest, because of bracket holding screws

interest, because the card was on the bottom of the pack, everything were on it, but there is a separated space in the box for the card only – made in indonesia

these interest things repeated in all 4 package

2 questions:

1 – what are those white connectors on the board?

2 – all card have got MAC address! why?

UPDATE! 2009.aug.7.

the correct driver for it: http://www.wintvcd.co.uk/drivers/HVR-22x0_7_6_1_27118_WHQL.zip

it is fixing the Code 10 on Xp and Vista too, the card is working!

before install the new driver, u must use the uninstaller: hcwclear.exe

the chassis – another one
